Building Your Cottage
Meridian Beach is a community with a refreshing focus on aesthetics, both in natural beauty and in home design. Our architectural guidelines ensure that all homes contribute to the relaxed, “craftsman” look and feel of our community and complement the graceful simplicity found in the abundant natural beauty that surrounds us.
Ours is a picturesque community where each home compliments the overall effect created by nature, canals, bridges, paths and the lake. The cottages built to date show that our guidelines have produced beautiful results.
You are free to select the home design and builder of your choice (even if it’s you) but it must comply with the Meridian Beach Architectural Guidelines and Policies (available for download here). This means the site plan and street/canal elevations must be approved by the Meridian Beach developer. In the future, approvals will be the responsibility of the Meridian Beach Homeowners Society. The County of Ponoka will require this approval prior to issuing a development permit. You are required to begin construction within four years of purchasing the lot, and construction must be completed within five years. Failure to meet that requirement will mean that a $3000 annual indemnity must be paid or the lot must be offered back to the developer at the original purchase cost.
Normally you purchase your lot form Inshore but you can also have your builder purchase for you .
